Servers:
Job Description:
- Arrange tables and chairs
- Place table linens, place settings, salt and pepper shakers on the tables.
- Keep water glasses filled
- Service all courses, wine and drinks.
- Bus tables between each course served.
- Take down tables and chairs, clean up.
- Must be polite and respectful to all clients, co-workers and guests.
Appearance:
- Clean and neat appearance
- Hair pulled back at all times
- No alcohol during shifts
How much staff will I need?
1 bartender for every 50 guests
1 chef and two kitchen staff for every 50 to 125 guests
1 server for every 15 guests (for formal sit down dinner) and 1 bus person.
Cocktail Party for 100 people: 1 bartender (2 bartenders if serving lots of blended drinks), two to four servers.
Tips:
- Employees should dress in white shirts/blouses and dark pants/skirts.
- Over schedule at least one person just in case an employee isn't able to show up.
- Buy a book on manners and etiquette and train you employees.
- Create an employee manual so staff members know what is expected.
- Interview each employee at least three times.
- Treat your employees with respect, don't talk about them in a negative way to other staff and pay them on time.
